2026 Day 6: Hello sweet sis

Hello sweet sis by Penelope Olive

Hello sweet sis
it’s been a while
since he’s gone
and I walk with a smile as the song says
with one hand in my pocket
though I do miss him and his saga-boy smile
he’s been here you know
talking to his heart’s content
as he always felt comfortable to do
what a grace
and I’m writing all down
to make sure that I know
he’s around and I don’t lose a drop
‘til the time I go see him
in that beautiful place
he’s been talking about
where he goes here and there
and to places and things I do not know or understand
he is sorry I am sad and encourages me
not to look back but forward and to tend to the kids
and the things that I write and I do and I see
he said the love he knows now
is beyond what he could ever have imagined
and that he’s happier now than he ever was
alive on earth now in heaven
what a grace
and he’s grateful for all that I’ve ever done
for the love that I have for him
“Mom,
We don’t know until we get here how deep love runs in the world”
and he is grateful that I am his mother
he is here to learn from my life
how one lives one’s life who believes
and to help me through these days of sorrow
and I’m grateful for you
my sweet sis at my side
for your kind and your listening ear
for your presence
what a grace.
