Day 14 Poem: aruba, my life in film

aruba, my life in film

Camera  Action!

 panning down

baby blue sky
cotton ball clouds
randomly tossed into
sky meeting
azure waters
in the distance

lens closing in slowly to

sun glistened waters

closer now to

shallow
pale waters
gentle lapping lapping
with gentle breeze
upon cream coloured sand

panning slowly to the right along

shore

to

pathway of footsteps
large jumbled with small
intertwined with tiny footsteps

pan slowly away from

footsteps

away from

waters  shore

to

flora

on the right

cacti and succulents
single palm tree
leaves waving in the breeze
divi divi bent by
sound always in the air
caribbean trade winds
breezes of aruba
mix of  water
moving flora
quiet steady soothing
breaths of sound

panning back to

footprints in the sand
dancing perhaps?
and true laughter
mingled tones of it
in the distance
two figures

scene grows larger clearer as lens closes in on

something small
moving on the sand
at their feet
ever so slightly
engaged
in some activity

clear now

a woman a man
and a tiny figure
on the sand
a child
tousle of blond hair

camera pans to

small hand
with pink plastic
shell-shaped scoop
working with
determined concentration
to build
some imaginary
castle in the sand…

Oranjestad - In the last months, the Customs agents at the Airport in Aruba have intercepted many tourists who are returning home with seashells, beach sand, or corals.

We want all the next generations and our tourists to enjoy our beaches, seashells, and corals.
Let us protect our nature.

Prompt for today: a poem that takes the form of the opening scene of the movie of your life
