gathering of pens
brushes paints
heart lifts
 
before even
pen touches paper
joy is here

brief february thaw
cold frozen
earth
 
single flower
now garland
of promise

one quiet morning
Sarah came with
two grandchildren
 
from hospital
ultrasound of third
in her hand
 
IV
no education
not
"for the girls"
 
then you came
opening doors
for me
 
V
examen prayer
on relationship
mother son
 
care love
friendship
for a lifetime
