Day 27 Poem: plentiful signs

plentiful signs

One only needs to look to see more signs,
plentiful, they will lift up heart and soul;

father roger said to look for more signs;
they will come, lifting heart, to feeling whole;

with wholeness comes lightness, and heart will shine;
a cardinal has come, has passed on wing;

male and female they come, like sweet red wine;
purple flowers, in snow, once formed a ring;

blooms lingered, beneath frost, winter, storms, ice;
dear friend bearing roses, on wings of love;

twenty-four red roses, with scent of spice;
Mary too, comes close, as sign of above;

Lourdes Fatima Medjugorje, her signs;
One only needs to look to see more signs.

Prompt for today: write a duplex, a variation on the sonnet, developed by poet Jericho Brown.  Like a typical sonnet, a duplex has fourteen lines; it’s organized into seven, two-line stanzas. The second line of the first stanza is echoed by (but not identical to) the first line of the third stanza, and so on. The last line of the poem is the same as the first.
